Port Said name has historical significance: Said - the Ruler of Egypt at that time - 1855.The root of the name goes back to International Committee composed of England, France, Russia, Austria, and Spain, who adopted this name to the City, in praise of M. Said, Egyptian Ruler, who granted De Lesseps the Concession to dig the cannel.
